I Made It...

With the help of Xanax and a couple of Crown and Cokes at the airport bar, I made it safely to D.C. The flight to Charlotte was nothing... a tiny bit of turbulence when we landed, but nothing horrible. NOW, getting in to D.C. was another story. I was nervous for a good deal of that flight, but lucky for me, one of my co-workers is a seasoned traveler and he helped steady my nerves.

Anyhoo... I just wanted to say hi to my buddies back in AL. I swear I feel like the Country Mouse from that old fable! :)

Re: I Made It...

Good morning!  You know, I could sworn I replied to this yesterday and yet today - nothing.  So that means either I imagined responding; I DID respond but never actually hit submit; or it was deleted.  Now I'm trying to think what I might have said that would be deemed inappropriate and although God knows my brain filter sometimes fails, I'm pretty sure I didn't write anything objectionable.

So here goes again.

I'm glad you made it back from your big adventure with no war wounds.  It does help a lot when you have a traveling companion.  Do you now think if you fly more frequently you'll learn to like it?

Welcome home.  I was missing you around here because the board felt like it was being taken over by computer geeks...wait, maybe THAT'S why my post was deleted!!!

Re: I Made It...

Aww thanks Frolix... but I'm still in D.C. Tried Thai food last night for dinner. That was a first, but tasty. Also drank WAAY too much beer, I'm paying for that today. In just another 36 hours I'll be heading home and that makes me a happy girl! :)

I do think I'll fly again. Now that I've taken that first initial step, my best friend is already planning my trip to her new home in Texas. But that's definitely a few months away, at least! :) I'm not quite THAT ready to begin a jet-setting lifestyle.

Did you get anything tasty on the airplane ride or did they give you crappy chex mix and a quarter of a softdrink?

My plane rides were short. About an hour on a commuter jet to Charlotte and an hour and 15 minutes or so from Charlotte to D.C. On both, they served pretzels... to Charlotte, they had no wet bar, so it was just coffee, soda or water. To D.C. they served up alcoholic beverages as well.

No big deal to me. It's such a short trip, why serve anything else? By the time the flight attendants were finished serving and picking up everyone's trash, it was time to land.
